Technical Support

Wadsworth Control Systems is the original designer and builder greenhouse automation equipment in North America. We are a small, family-owned business seeking a Technical Support person to support our various control options from the sale through post installation grower support.

 

This is an in-office position.

 

Main Position responsibilities:

  • Support customers over the phone and e-mail
  • Record and track support issues
  • Assist with testing controls prior to shipment
  • Share after-hours emergency support phone with other tech-support staff
  • Process RGAs
  • Inspect and repair returned products

 

Required:

  • Intermediate electrical knowledge and ability to interpret electrical schematics
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and ability to interpret mechanical schematics
  • Experience reading technical documentation
  • Professional phone and e-mail communication
  • Patient, with a calm demeanor
  • Detailed record-keeping and note-taking abilities
  • Typing skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people of varying levels of technical knowledge
  • Ability to use and instruct others in the use of a digital multi-meter
  • Ability to create, follow, and improve procedures
  • Work with hand tools and wire products
  • Computer skills (MS Office, TeamViewer, help desk software)
  • Problem solving skills and logical thinking
  • Ability to stay focused and manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to differentiate between colors in order to wire and troubleshoot equipment

 

Desirable:

  • Associates Degree in Electrical Technology or similar
  • Experience with computer ticketing and support systems
  • Networking and IT knowledge
  • Construction/Trades experience
  • Experience with automated controls
  • Experience with ERP software

 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Wadsworth Control Systems provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $52,000- $56,160 ($25- $27/hour)

    Engineering Team Lead

    Wadsworth Control Systems is the originator of greenhouse automation in North America. We provide innovative solutions that support self-regulation of greenhouses and indoor grow facilities.

     

    Job Description: Operations Manager

    Exceptional leadership skills. Work closely with management and executive teams in strategic planning. Oversee engineering manager and production manager in supporting their teams. Implement project management techniques for seamless workflow from engineering to production while meeting or exceeding deadlines.

     

    Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and 5-plus years of business-management experience.

     

    Specific Tasks Include:

     

    Management

    • Provide leadership, direction and motivation through a strong work ethic and leading by example. Mentor and coach direct reports, who in turn, motivate indirect reports
    • Proven ability to adapt and manage effectively in an agile environment
    • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
    • Analytical response after assessing situations
    • Work with Leadership and Management teams in strategic planning

    • Assist supervisors with difficult situations
    • Anticipate and locate information needed to make best decisions including issues that might arise from each possible solution
    • Address employee concerns and suggestions
    • Manage and mediate employee issues
    • Coordinate production with order entry and accounting teams
    • Maintain implementation of 5S, VSM events and visual workplace
    • Interface with multiple owners
    • Listen to multiple perspectives to find best solution

    Production

    • Work with Production Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, crafting and improving processes to develop ability to scale
    • Meet on-time delivery dates
    • Understand dependent tasks and how they affect beginning and end dates
    • Oversee schedule from orders to engineering and through production
    • Process management skills – seeking ongoing improvement of more effective and efficient methods
    • Ensure demand-driven availability of materials, equipment and labor
    • Manage ratio goals per monthly financial meetings
    • Use metrics to analyze, translate, and make recommendations all aspects of operations
    • Knowledge and experience to utilize a variety of tools to provide best lean environment:
    • Kanban
    • Standard work
    • Error proofing
    • Waste reduction
    • Huddles/Huddle boards
    • Oversee compliance with health and safety policies
    • Work with Production and Engineering Managers to meet quality specifications
    • Implement training programs to enhance job skill and knowledge
    • Innovate new methods, support new product development

     

    Purchasing

    • With owners, establish new vendor contracts
    • Monitor purchasing and inventory usage to ensure inventory meets operational objectives
    • Continuous evaluation of existing vendors
    • Ongoing search for competitive pricing and alternative parts from new sources

     

    Compensation and Benefits:

    • As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Wadsworth Control Systems provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The pay range for this role is $100,000 – $130,000.
