Electromechanical Assembly

This job includes assembly, testing and packaging of electromechanical subassemblies and complete units. Work requires the use of hand tools and small power tools to assemble units. Pulling parts and products to fill orders per established procedures is also part of this position.

Requirements

  • Lean Manufacturing experience (Kanban, 5S, standard work, flow, flexible workforce, etc.)
  • Forklift operation
  • Basic electricity and electronics
  • Hand tool operation
  • Power tool operation
  • Computer experience (shipping, receiving, and shop floor)
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Requires 2-4 years of experience in electromechanical assembly or related field. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a shop floor/warehouse environment. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision of a lead, supervisor, or manager.

Technical Support for electro-mechanical controls

Work entails supporting electromechanical assemblers on site and supporting customers over the phone or via e-mail.

Main responsibilities:

  • Electro-mechanical support customers via phone and e-mail
  • Record and track support issues
  • Assist with testing controls prior to shipment
  • Share after-hours emergency support phone with other tech-support staff
  • Inspect and repair returned product

 

Required:

  • 2-years’ experience in technical support of electro-mechanical products
  • Intermediate electrical knowledge / ability to interpret electrical schematics
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems / ability to interpret mechanical schematics
  • Experience reading technical documentation
  • Professional phone and e-mail communication
  • A calm demeanor
  • Detailed record-keeping and note-taking abilities including typing skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people of varying levels of technical knowledge
  • Ability to use and instruct others in the use of a digital multi-meter
  • Ability to create, follow, and improve procedures
  • Work with hand tools, wire products and solder
  • Computer skills (MS Office, TeamViewer, help desk software)
  • Problem solving skills and logical thinking
  • Ability to stay focused and manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to differentiate between colors in order to wire and troubleshoot equipment

 

Desirable:

  • Associates Degree in Electrical Technology or similar
  • Experience with computer ticketing and support systems
  • Networking and IT knowledge
  • Construction experience
  • Experience with automated controls
  • Experience with ERP software
